What the Ravix Games website stores on your device, and how to choose. In short: no tracking, and one optional preference.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Websites can also store information using similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage. In this policy we call all of these "cookies". UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, or PECR) says we need your consent for any that aren't strictly necessary.
2. What we use
The Ravix Games website doesn't set traditional HTTP cookies, and doesn't use advertising, social-media or other tracking cookies. Our fonts, images and videos are served from our own website, so no third party can set cookies through them. We use your browser's local storage for the following:
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
descent-consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choice (including whether anonymous statistics are on), so we don't ask on every page | 12 months, then we ask again |
descent-subscribed | Strictly necessary | Records the times of recent newsletter sign-ups (no email address) so the form can't be sent more than 3 times in 10 minutes | Entries are ignored and cleared after 10 minutes |
descent-applied | Strictly necessary | Records the times of recent applications (no personal details) so the form can't be sent more than 3 times in 10 minutes, to stop spam | Entries are ignored and cleared after 10 minutes |
3. Third parties
No third-party cookies. Nothing on this website loads content from other companies, except that, if anonymous statistics are on, your browser sends one small request per page to GoatCounter, which sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device (see our privacy policy). You can turn this off in Cookie settings. When you follow a link to Discord, TikTok, Instagram, X, Bluesky or Medium, those services may set their own cookies under their own policies. When you send an application, your browser contacts Discord to deliver it, as explained in our privacy policy.
4. Your choices
This website only stores what it needs to work, so it doesn't ask for consent when you arrive. You can turn anonymous statistics off at any time.
You can also clear or block storage in your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage won't break the website, but we'll ask for your cookie choice again, and the application form's spam limit won't apply.
5. Changes
If we ever add a new type of cookie, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent again where it's needed.
