The rules for using the Ravix Games website, what you can do with our artwork, and what applying for a role does and doesn't mean.
1. About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to your use of ravixgames.com (the "website"), run by Ravix Games Studio ("Ravix Games", "we", "us" or "our"), an independent games studio based in the United Kingdom. By using the website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
In these terms, "Descent" means our game Descent: Into the Abyss, under that or any later title. These terms cover the website only. Any future release of Descent, playtest or store page will have its own terms or end-user licence.
2. A game in development
Descent is in early development. Everything on this website describes a work in progress and may change, be cut or never be released.
- Images labelled concept art show the world we're aiming for, not the game as it is.
- Images and video labelled prototype, in-engine or filmed in UE5 come from Unreal Engine but are not final gameplay.
- Features, platforms, the age rating, prices and dates are not promises. We'll only share a release window when we're confident in it.
3. Our content and intellectual property
Descent: Into the Abyss, its names (including "Descent"), emblem, logos and wordmark, the Ravix Games name and logo, and all artwork, video, audio, text, designs and code on this website belong to Ravix Games or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. All rights are reserved.
You may view and download content for your own personal, non-commercial use, and share links to the website. You may not copy, adapt, sell, or redistribute our content, or use it to train machine-learning models, except as allowed in section 4 or with our written permission.
Unreal Engine, Steam, PEGI and the names of other services mentioned on the website are trade marks of their respective owners, and their mention doesn't imply endorsement.
4. Press and creator use
Journalists, reviewers, streamers and content creators may use the material in our press page and the Descent: Into the Abyss page in articles, videos, streams and previews about Descent, as long as you:
- credit "Ravix Games" and, where practical, link to the website;
- keep each item's label, so concept art is described as concept art, and in-engine footage isn't presented as final gameplay;
- don't alter the logos, or edit the art in a way that misrepresents the game;
- don't suggest that we sponsor or endorse you or your content; and
- don't sell the material itself, or use it in advertising for anything other than coverage of Descent.
Monetised videos and streams about Descent are fine. We may ask you to remove material if these conditions aren't met.
5. Applications and team roles
Sending an application through the careers page is an expression of interest. It is not an offer of work, and it doesn't create any employment, contractor or other relationship with Ravix Games. We may not be able to respond to every application.
Team roles are unpaid during development, with a revenue share once the game earns on release, and Community Moderator is a voluntary role. Any revenue share, payment, credit, confidentiality or intellectual-property terms only apply once they're agreed in a separate written agreement signed by you and Ravix Games. You must be 18 or over to apply.
Please don't send us unsolicited ideas, designs or creative work outside a signed agreement. If you do, you agree that we have no obligation to use, review, credit or pay for them, and that we may already be working on something similar.
6. Using the website responsibly
You agree not to:
- use the website in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights;
- send false, misleading or spam applications, or impersonate someone else;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers or our Discord, or interfere with how they work;
- misuse the application form, including by sending automated or bulk submissions; or
- scrape the website, or introduce viruses or other harmful code.
7. Other websites
The website links to services run by others, including Discord, TikTok, Instagram, X, Bluesky and Medium. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, availability or how they use your data. Their own terms apply.
8. Availability and changes
We provide the website free of charge and "as is". We try to keep it available and accurate, but we don't guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or remove any part of it at any time.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded under English law.
Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or any content on it, including indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss caused by a virus or other harmful material that reaches your device through the website, where we have taken reasonable care. If you use the website as a consumer, you also have legal rights that these terms don't affect.
10. Privacy and cookies
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data, and our cookie policy explains what the website stores on your device.
11. Changes, law and disputes
We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top shows when they last changed. Using the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
